Originally from Italy, this vintage silver lapel with marcasite gemstones dates back to the 1970s. In some ancient civilizations, the lizard was at times regarded as a symbol of birth and regeneration due to the ability of this reptile to shed its skin and regrow its long tail. In some Native American cultures, lizards were also considered "spirit guides".
